Welcome to Thistledown Farm!

We’re Martha and Amelia Hoffert — a mother-daughter team with dirt under our nails and a deep love for growing beautiful, nourishing food. Nestled in the heart of Metamora, Michigan, our farm sits on land that has been in our family for generations. While our roots go back to dairy farming, today we’re proud to carry that legacy forward in a fresh and flavorful way: by cultivating organic, gourmet mushrooms.

Since 2022, Thistledown Farm LLC has been our labor of love — a small but thriving operation focused on bringing high-quality mushrooms to our community. You’ll find us at local farmers markets and selling directly to customers who care about where their food comes from.

In the summer of 2025, we expanded our growing capacity, allowing us to grow mushrooms year-round. It’s been an exciting step forward, and one that lets us serve our customers even better while staying true to our values of sustainability, quality, and connection to the land.

Farming is in our blood, and while the crops may have changed, our commitment to hard work, family, and community has never wavered. Thank you for being a part of our journey — we’re so glad you’re here.
